Assif Stoffman, Active Chairman
Mr. Stoffman joined the Ofer Hi-Tech team in 2001, serving seven years at Naiot (The Ofer Hi-Tech incubator). During his period at Naiot he served as an investment manager for three years and as its CEO for four years. As CEO of Naiot Assif led various investments in innovative start-up companies in the fields of healthcare, software and internet and played an active role in refining their strategies and supporting their management teams. In 2006 Assif co-founded Vestopia, a financial services company. Currently Assif serves on the boards of AngioSlide, MentorWave and Naiot and as active chairman for EndoCross, EZSurgical, Intratech and Checkmarx. Prior to joining Naiot Assif was instrumental in founding and leading two start-up companies in the years 1998-2001.
Assif received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a law degree from the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya and mater of laws degree (negotiation and dispute resolutions program) from Bar Ilan University in Ramat Gan.
Shai Sole, Director
Mr. Sole is a Founder, former EVP, and CTO, of Sapiens International (NASD: SPNS), a global provider of IT solutions. In April 2000, Mr. Sole has Founded Traiana, a software provider of trade processing solutions to financial institutions. In 2007, Traiana was acquired by Icap Plc. for $250M. Prior to Sapiens, Mr. Sole had worked as a researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. In 1992, he received the Rothschild prize in recognition for technological innovation.
Mr. Sole currently advises technology companies in the development of their strategy, raising capital, and executing on their vision.
Emmanuel Benzaquen, Director
Mr. Benzaquen brings to Checkmarx over 15 years of technology and business experience in the semiconductor, software and IT fields. Before joining Checkmarx in 2006, he was involved with several startups companies and the Israeli VC industry at large. Prior to that, he headed the Business Development Group at ARC in San Jose, CA, which completed its IPO in 2000 (LSE: ARK). While at ARC, Mr. Benzaquen took an active part with the acquisition and integration of Precise Software Technologies and MetaWare. In addition, Mr. Benzaquen occupied various technology and business development related positions with Embedded Performance Inc. (subsequently acquired by Mentor Graphics), Intellicourt, Integrity Systems, Illuminator (subsequently acquired by EMC), and X-Ample Technology. Mr. Benzaquen holds an MBA (ISM, California) in International Business and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Polytechnique Nantes, France). He is the author of many articles in leading industry publications including EETimes, Electronics Weekly, and InfoWeek.
Maty Siman, Director
Mr. Siman is a technology expert active in the IT industry for the past 12 years, with expertise in software development, IT security and Source Code Analysis. Prior to founding Checkmarx, Mr. Siman worked for 2 years in the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office as a senior IT security expert and project manager. Prior to that he spent 6 years in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) where he was elected to the "STAR" excellence program and taught several consecutive sessions of the prestigious application development course ("Mamram"). He established and led a development team in the Information Security Center (InfoSec) and completed military academy as an IT Security R&D Officer. He regularly speaks at IT security conferences, and holds the highly regarded CISSP certification since 2003.
