Emmanuel Benzaquen, CEO
Mr. Benzaquen brings to Checkmarx over 15 years of technology and business experience in the semiconductor, software and IT fields. Before joining Checkmarx in 2006, he was involved with several startups companies and the Israeli VC industry at large. Prior to that, he headed the Business Development Group at ARC in San Jose, CA, which completed its IPO in 2000 (LSE: ARK). While at ARC, Mr. Benzaquen took an active part with the acquisition and integration of Precise Software Technologies and MetaWare. In addition, Mr. Benzaquen occupied various technology and business development related positions with Embedded Performance Inc. (subsequently acquired by Mentor Graphics), Intellicourt, Integrity Systems, Illuminator (subsequently acquired by EMC), and X-Ample Technology. Mr. Benzaquen holds an MBA (ISM, California) in International Business and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Polytechnique Nantes, France). He is the author of many articles in leading industry publications including EETimes, Electronics Weekly, and InfoWeek.
Maty Siman, Founder & CTO
Mr. Siman is a technology expert. He has been active in the IT industry for the past 12 years and has experience in software development, IT security and source-code analysis. Prior to founding Checkmarx, Mr. Siman worked for two years at the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office as a senior IT security expert and project manager. Prior to that he spent six years with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), where he was elected for the STAR excellence program and taught several consecutive sessions of their prestigious application development course (Mamram). He established and led a development team in the Information Security Center (InfoSec) and completed military academy as an IT Security R & D Officer. He regularly speaks at IT security conferences and holds the highly regarded CISSP certification since 2003.
Sigal Shachar, CFO
Mrs. Shachar brings to Checkmarx many years of corporate experience, financial knowledge and high tech expertise. As the CFO for the Naiot Venture Accelerator (the Ofer Group) since 2007, she heads Finance and Operations for Naiot and its portfolio companies. Prior to joining Naiot, Sigal was serving in several Corporate Controller positions for over 9 years, in various High Tech companies. Sigal was also a senior auditor at Somekh Chaikin, a member of KPMG, for 4 years. Sigal is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel.
Alex Roichman, Chief Software Architect
Alex is one of the original developers responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of the Checkmarx’s CxSuite. Alex has over 10 years of experience in development of comprehensive enterprise IT solutions and holds a Master's degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Computer Science with a specialization in application and database security. Mr. Roichman has the most valuable Microsoft certifications: Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) and Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA). Alex has authored a number of articles in the field of application security and has been published in ACM, Springerlink as well as many other leading journals.
Ran Frank, Director of R&D
Mr. Frank is a software development expert. He has been active in the High Tech industry for the past 12 years in various roles as Software Developer and R&D Manager. Prior to joining Checkmarx, he founded BetterSoft, an international consulting software house based in Israel. Mr. Frank has a broad experience in managing the complete development process from the requirements step through the system analysis and implementation process, and up to the customer onsite deployment. He holds a B.S.C.S. from Touro University International and a System Analysis Certification.
Moshe Lerner, VP Corporate Development
Mr. Lerner served over 20 years as an executive and professional in various positions in the software industry spanned over international locations, including USA and Europe. Moshe gained vast experience developing products and projects for Fortune 500 customers like International Paper, UBS and Siemens in cooperation with large solution providers like IBM and Accenture. Moshe served as executive in Delivery, Product Management and Business Development roles working for companies like Sapiens (Nasdaq:SPNS) as VP Delivery for America and at ItemField (acquired by Informatica) as VP Product Management and Business Development EMEA. Moshe holds B.S.C in Information systems from the Technion in Israel graduating cum Ladue.
Jack Dahan, Vice President Business Development
Mr. Dahan is a sales veteran, who prior to joining Checkmarx held senior sales positions for more than 20 years. Jack began his sales career selling Olivetti Pc’s to large customer accounts in the region of Paris, France. During the late 80’s, Jack established the Sun Microsystems software division in France, a position he excelled in up until the mid 90’s. Between 1994 and 2000 Jack held VP EMEA positions at FTP Software and NBC Internet, positions in which he managed OEM deals, channels, and large account sales. Following these positions, he held Regional Director Southern Europe at Checkpoint Software Technologies. During his Checkpoint years, Jack won Best EMEA Region on numerous occasions, delivering excelling sales results. Just before joining Checkmarx, Jack founded Saferlife Mobi in 2007, a start up project dedicated to security services for mobile users.
Assaf Pilo, Director of Sales and Marketing
Mr. Pilo is an information technologies marketing expert, who’s been leading strategic sales for more than 10 years, both in Israel and abroad. Before joining Checkmarx, Assaf lead the Western Europe regional activity at ControlGuard ltd. His activities in the region included, starting from ground up, both building the partners program and sales channels, as well as managing global accounts. Prior to ControlGuard, Assaf has been managing large and enterprise customer accounts at leading integrators and distributors, offering security, infrastructure, software and hardware solutions. Along the years, Assaf has built strong relationships with vendors such as Symantec, McAfee, VMware, IBM, HP and Microsoft. Assaf holds a BA academic degree from Bar-Ilan University ,Israel, majoring in Criminology.
