John is a General Partner at Cultivation Capital. John’s most recent operational experience was the SVP Field Operations at Guidewire, a leading enterprise software firm entering the public markets in 2012. In the 20 years prior to Guidewire, John held executive positions at several category defining early stage technology companies: Fortify ( acquired by HP), EqualLogic ( acquired by Dell), Ariba (Public and then acquired by SAP), and PTC (Public) He currently serves on the board of private software companies, including LLamasoft (Supply Chain Design), Agilis Systems (Internet of Things), Observable Networks (real-time big data security analytics), and SalesVue (Inside Sales Automation).
Mr. Goldschmidt has more than a decade of venture capital experience, actively supporting technology companies both financially and operationally. Prior to founding Valley, Mr. Goldschmidt was Managing Partner and CEO at Mofet Technology Fund, a unique publicly traded venture capital firm. Earlier in his career, he served as vice president of ADC (Israel) (Nasdaq: ADCT, later acquired by Tyco Electronics (NYSE:TEL)), and led the Business Development for Teledata Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: TLDCF, acquired by ADC). Mr. Goldschmidt holds B.Sc. in Mathematics & Physics and M.Sc in Solid State Physics (Tel Aviv University).
Mr. Benzaquen brings to Checkmarx over 15 years of technology and business experience in the semiconductor, software and IT fields. Before joining Checkmarx in 2006, he was involved with several startups companies and the Israeli VC industry at large. Prior to that, he headed the Business Development Group at ARC in San Jose, CA, which completed its IPO in 2000 (LSE: ARK). While at ARC, Mr. Benzaquen took an active part with the acquisition and integration of Precise Software Technologies and MetaWare. In addition, Mr. Benzaquen occupied various technology and business development related positions with Embedded Performance Inc. (subsequently acquired by Mentor Graphics), Intellicourt, Integrity Systems, Illuminator (subsequently acquired by EMC), and X-Ample Technology. Mr. Benzaquen holds an MBA (ISM, California) in International Business and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Polytechnique Nantes, France). He is the author of many articles in leading industry publications including EETimes, Electronics Weekly, and InfoWeek.
Mr. Siman is a technology expert. He has been active in the IT industry for the past 12 years and has experience in software development, IT security and source-code analysis. Prior to founding Checkmarx, Mr. Siman worked for two years at the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office as a senior IT security expert and project manager. Prior to that he spent six years with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), where he was elected for the STAR excellence program and taught several consecutive sessions of their prestigious application development course (Mamram). He established and led a development team in the Information Security Center (InfoSec) and completed military academy as an IT Security R & D Officer. He regularly speaks at IT security conferences and holds the highly regarded CISSP certification since 2003.
